are 2 OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager): One for local management (OEM
Database Control) and one for central management (OEM
Grid Control).

The SYSAUX
(a mandatory tablespace) is added in Oracle 10g and keeps metadata for
various tools like LOGMNR, RMAN (Repository catalogue).

Flashback
technology:
a new type of recovery log, called a flashback
log enables the Flashback database feature. The Flashback feature
allows you to perform queries that return past data, or the history of
changes on a particular table, to undo undesirable changes to a
particular table. With flashback feature enabled is possible also to
recover a table or the entire database to a previous point in time.

Automatic
Storage Management (ASM):
Using ASM feature the DBA doesn’t need to maintain thousands of data
files or to manage the I/O. All is done automatically and what we have
to manage is an ASM instance and a few disk groups. The performance
also is improved in the ASM feature.

Data
Pump technology: enables a faster import/ export. Because the Duta Pump needs
more time to start up, for small jobs, the old exp/imp may be faster.

In
10g we can write to an external table (in 9i is possible only to read from an
external tablespace)

In
10g we can transport
tablespaces between different platforms

Automatic
Database Diagnostic Monitor (ADDM): In
Oracle 10g the statistics could be gathered automatically and saved in
an Automatic Workload Repository (AWR). After these snapshots are
taken ADDM run and creates reports about how the performance could be
improved (on the hardware and database level).
