Upgrade 11i to R12: Finish the Upgrade

1. Reset ORACLE schema passwords

For the existing schemas, Oracle keeps the initial passwords; however for the new schemas, Oracle use the default password, which must be changed for security reason.

2. Configure and start server processes

3. Configure Applications client software for forms applet

The connection between the client and the Applications forms is provided through an applet in the client Web browser. Instead of using the browser's JVM, Oracle Applications use the Sun Java (J2SE) native plug-in. For more information you can read the Metalink Note 393931.1

4. Reapply customizations

If you customized Applications environment files (APPLSYS.env or devenv.env), re-integrate them in devenv.env or in adovars.env files.Restart the Application server processes so that the changes take effect. Also, if the system had custom forms, reports, programs, libraries, reapply all changes that you need for R12.

NOTE: Do this step if needed.
