    Change PL/SQL Log and Output Directory

    PL/SQL Log and Output directory is set to /usr/tmp by default. The files from this temporary directory are deleted when the server restart. For this reason and for security reason this directory must be changed. 

    Here are the steps to change the PL/SQL Log and Output directory (set up by APPLPTMP variable):

       1. Create a secure directory on the database server node

       2. Add this directory in utl_file_dir parameter (in the init.ora file)

       3.  Modify APPLPTMP variable in the Context File using Oracle Application Manager (OAM)

       4. Run AutoConfig script to recreate the environment files

       5. Restart the database 

       6. Source the system with the new environment files.

    Implement Product & Country-specific Functionalities

    Each Product and Country-specific functionality  has an installation guide which must be follow. Oracle Metalink also provide with good information on this subject. For sure will be some additional patches to apply for this new change. 

    Configure Database Initialization Parameters

    For the complete list of the initialization parameters please read the Note 216205.1 from Metalink. 

    Configure Client Software

    In order to let the users access the Oracle Applications Oracle JInitiator must be installed on the desktop client. Oracle JInitiator is Oracle's Java Virtual Machine (JVM) which allows running Oracle Forms applet on the client side (see the Oracle Metalink Doc ID 162488.1).

    Change Passwords

    Here are the default passwords for the Vision Demo Database:

Also, FNDCPASS utility must be used in order to change the Oracle Applications passwords.
